01 Day: Arrival Kolkata:
Welcome to the mesmerizing land of India. As per your scheduled flight,
our representative will met, assist and escort you to the booked hotel.
All documents will be handed over to you with traveling brief and interaction
for any query in terms of tour and services. Rest of the time is for leisure
and overnight at the hotel.
02 Day: Kolkata:
After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Kolkata. Kolkata is a city
of joy, where the heritage hunters can discover a blend of old and new.
The political capital of British India has now become one of the largest
metropolises of the world. Visit the famous The Howrah Bridge built in
1943 - the bridge is crossed by approximately two million people
everyday, High Court Building, built in 1872 and the oldest Catholic Church
in Calcutta, St. Mary's. Followed by visit to the Botanical Gardens,
the oldest and largest of their kinds in India; St. Paul Cathedral, Indian
Museum, Kali temple of Kalighat, Birla temple, Dalhousie Square &
Tagore House. Victoria Memorial: Conceived by Lord Curzon, this symbol
of Calcutta was built between 1906 and 1921 at a cost of Rs. 7.5 million.
It is a reminder of Queen Victoria's reign in India and has been
often compared to Taj Mahal. Overnight at the hotel.
03 Day: Kolkata - Bagdogra (By Air) - Darjeeling (100 kms:
4 hrs):
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to the airport to board
the flight for Bagdogra. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Darjeeling
famous for tea gardens, magnificent view of the Himalayas, Kanchenjunga
peak, beautiful valleys, trekking to high altitude and famous toy train.
It is a superlative combination of fern-filled valleys, snow-capped peaks
and tea-scented air. Rest of the evening is free for rest and relaxation
and to enjoy the local surrounding. You can take a walk down the Mall
road, famous for shopping. Overnight at the hotel.
04 Day: Darjeeling:
After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Darjeeling visiting Tibetan
Self-Help Refugee Centre, Established in 1959, is a rehabilitation centre
for the Tibetan refugees in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region providing
home for the aged, and orphanage, school, hospital and craft workshops
that produce carpets of pure ladakhi wool, woodcarving, leather work and
wool items. Also visit the Japanese temple, Batasia Loop and the Ghoom
Monastery which belongs to the Yellow Sect of Buddhists. Later visit Himalayan
Mountaineering Institute; the Mountaineering Museum contains a collection
of historic mountaineering equipment, specimens of Himalayan flora and
fauna and a relief model of the Himalaya. Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park.
This zoo was established in 1958 with the objectives of study, conservation
and preservation of Himalayan fauna. The animals are well cared for by
dedicated keepers. Then proceed to visit the world famous tea gardens
to watch the tea plantations. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at
the hotel.
05 Day: Darjeeling:
Early morning take an excursion to Tiger hill to enjoy the breathtaking
view of color changing during sunrise over snowcapped peaks of Mt. Kanchendzonga
Range, which is an amazing sight. On a clear day, Mount Everest, which
is around 225 km from Tiger Hills, can also be seen; however, this is
a rare sight. Then return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast
proceed to visit the Mirik Lake an 1.25km long natural lake surrounded
by orchids and tea estates. Late afternoon return back to the hotel. After
rest and relaxation in the evening you can take a walk down the Mall road,
famous for shopping. Overnight at the hotel.
06 Day: Darjeeling - Gangtok (105 kms: 4 hrs):
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Gangtok. Our drive
through Teesta bazaar is mostly along the beautiful river Teesta till
we reach a small town of Ranipool, from where we gradually climb up for
30 mins towards the capital of Sikkim. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.
Gangtok: Situated at an elevation of 5600 feet, the snow-capped peaks
of the Kanchenjunga envelopes the town and offers spectacular view. Amidst
the whipping prayer flags, brightly painted pagoda houses, hums of prayers
in the background, coupled with smiling people against the beautiful scenic
backdrop of the Gangtok, this truly becomes a place worth visiting. Rest
of the evening is free for leisure and individual activities. Overnight
at the hotel.
07 Day: Gangtok:
Early morning enjoy the breathtaking morning view of the majestic Mt.
Kanchendzonga and surrounding hills at Tashi view point which was built
by the late King of Sikkim Sri. Tashi Namgyal. Followed by visit to Hanuman
Tak and Ganesh Tak. Later take an excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake -
32 kms, is cool placid water harmonies with the scenic beauty around which
doubled by its reflection in the lake. During the winter session the lake
becomes frozen. You can enjoy Yak ride and Tibetans dish momo. Later drive
back to the city. Followed by visit to the Baba Mandir, (temple of disappeared
army personal) and back to Gangtok. Optional tour you can drive up to
Nathula, which is the Indo-China border. However this visit is allowed
special permit for Indian tourist only. Return to Gangtok. In the evening
you can enjoy a walk at the famous Mall Road. Overnight at hotel.
08 Day: Gangtok:
After breakfast take an excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake - 32 kms,
is cool placid water harmonies with the scenic beauty around which doubled
by it's reflection in the lake. During the winter session the lake becomes
frozen. You can enjoy Yak ride and Tibetans dish momo. Later drive back
to the city. Followed by visit to the Baba Mandir, (temple of disappeared
army personal) and back to Gangtok. Optional tour you can drive up to
Nathula, which is the Indo-Chaina border. However this visit is allowed
special permit for Indian tourist only. Return to Gangtok. In the evening
you can enjoy a walk at the famous Mall Road. Overnight at hotel.
09 Day: Gangtok - Kalimpong (75 kms: 4 hrs):
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Kalimpong. Kalimpong
is a small hill station between Gangtok and Siliguri. The town is 1250
m above sea level and offers excellent views of the Mt Kanchenjunga and
the other Himalayan peaks. Oak, Maple and Chestnut stretch up the ridge
as far as the eye can reach. The lifestyle of the local people reflects
the social and religious influences of its neighboring nations Nepal,
Tibet and Bhutan. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Visit the famous
Orchid Nurseries, where you will find some of the rarest cacti & Orchids.
Later drive up to Darpin Dara, the highest point in Kalimpong with superb
views over the plains. Visit the Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa or the
Durpin Monastery consecrated by the Dalai Lama in 1976. It contains all
108 volumes carried by Dalai Lama in his exile. Evening is free to visit
the Kalimpong Market. Overnight at the hotel.
10 Day: Kalimpong - Bagdogra (80 kms: 3 hrs) - Kolkata (By
Air) - Onwards Journey (By Air):
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Bagdogra. On arrival,
transfer to the airport to board the flight for Kolkata. On arrival transfer
to board the flight for onwards journey with happy memories of your holiday
to India.
